Getting started

Create an account, choose the right role, and understand what happens next.

DanceCheer is a platform for running dance and cheer competitions. Academies register their coaches and athletes, organisers publish events, and results build into rankings across the season.

Everything starts with an account. Which role you choose determines what you can do and what happens immediately after you sign up.

Choosing your role

When you sign up you pick one of five roles. You are not locked in — you can be approved for more later.

  1. Parent or guardian

Manage profiles for children under 18. This is the only role that is active the moment you sign up, because it grants nothing beyond managing your own family's data.

  2. Athlete

Compete under your own account. You will search for your academy during signup, and the academy owner approves you.

  3. Coach

Work at an academy. Same as an athlete, you pick your academy during signup and the owner approves you.

  4. Academy owner

Run your own academy. Requires business verification before the academy is created.

  5. Event organiser

Host competitions. Requires business verification before you can publish events.

What happens after you sign up

Your account is created straight away and you are signed in. What you can do depends on your role.

RoleWhen it becomes active
ParentImmediately
AthleteWhen the academy owner approves your request
CoachWhen the academy owner approves your request
Academy ownerWhen an administrator approves your business verification
Event organiserWhen an administrator approves your business verification

Checking your status

Your profile is the single place to see where things stand. It shows:

  • Your roles — everything currently granted to your account
  • Academies — any academy you belong to, and whether your request is still pending
  • Verification applications — their status, and any changes an administrator has asked for

If something needs your attention, it appears at the top of your profile with a button to act on it.
